I need to enable server-based SharePoint integration

I am trying to connect SharePoint to a model-driven app, but when I try to validate the SharePoint site, I keep getting an error during the validation process.

I have read the technical documentation and I am now trying to enable server-based SharePoint integration, but I am not sure how to activate the process correctly.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you!

    Hi,

Before you start you need to be a System Administrator on both SharePoint Online and Power Platform tenants. Please see the steps below for setup.

Step 1: Enable SharePoint integration in Power Platform

    • Go to Power Platform Admin Center
    • Select your Environment
    • Open Settings
    • Go to integration Document management
    • Click Enable server-based SharePoint integration
This enables SharePoint at the environment level

Step 2: Configure SharePoint connection (in Power Apps)

    • Go to Advanced Settings (⚙️ Advanced settings)
    • Navigate to:
    • Settings Document Management Document Management Settings
    • Choose Server-based SharePoint
    • Click Next
    • Enter SharePoint Online URL.
    • Validate and finish the wizard
This links Dataverse to SharePoint Online

Step 3: Enable tables for document management

    • In Advanced Settings go to: Settings Document Management Document Management Settings
    • Select the tables you want (e.g.):
    • Account
    • Contact
    • Case
    • Custom tables

Step 4: Add Documents to the model-driven app

    • Open Power Apps
    • Go to Apps your model-driven app
    • Click Edit
    • Select Site map
    • Add Documents if not already present
    • Save & Publish

    Step 5: Test setup

    • Open a record (e.g., Account)
    • Select Documents
    • A SharePoint folder should auto-create
    • Upload a file to confirm it saved the document to SharePoint

    Hope this helps!
