Hi Experts,

Objective: To make the script robust to changes to the website when the element I click changes:

Please suggest ways to automate a click on the Tree drop down manually as using automation was working but the every time there is a change in position of the element, automation is failing.

I enclosed the picture with more descriptions written on it, any help would be appreciated.

I tried to feed the UI element of the  tree, but when I run I get error

When I enable step 5 above, and disable 6 which is web auto recorded ( which is not consistent with communication errors and whenever there are changes to the position of the element as someone add a element / modify element).

I get the following error for step 5 above.

Any help would be appreciated.

You just have to modify the span selector to make it match, depending on how you'd like to match it. Without the HTML source code it is difficult to recommend something. You could also get all span elements first and then decide on which to click, based on its content and index.

As a last resort you could also use OCR and image based automation but this als brings other challenges...

Thank you @fraenK I will explore your solutions. Do you have any solution link where you have collected all the span links and clicked based on a name ? If not do not worry, thank you for the Idea. I will explore.

    Many Thanks.

Hi  @acerNZ  Have you found a way to find all the span links and click on it? Or have you found another solution. Currently I am facing the same problem, so I would love to hear your solution!
