How are you supposed to move cards around? They keep bouncing to random locations.

I'm dying here. I'm just trying to build a simple form using sharepoint list data. My form is 768px wide and the fields are 300px. When I move a field to the location I want it, it just goes to some other random location. In the gif screencast below, you can see that in order for the Device field to come after the Name field, I need to put the name field after the device field. All fields are unlocked.

    Hi @anthonys123

Can you try to repost the screencast, as it appears to be missing?

    Thanks.

When using forms the fields are automatically set to flow based on their individual size and the column settings.  So set columns to 2 and order the fields the way you want them to fall using the Edit fields dialog, not the design display. If a field should be on a row by itself make sure its width is more than 1/2 the total width of the form.  That will push the next field down.  But using a form and cards there is no way to completely control the placement.  For that you need to use just a screen and controls where you can set the X,Y.

Moving the fields around in the Edit field dialog (up / down) basically does the exact same thing. Are you suggesting that I need to move the columns in my SP List for the fields to align in the form?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

No, you don't need to change the SP List, just the order of the fields.  I know you can change them by dragging them on the design screen, but I tend to find that has some strange side effects.  As I said the cards will automatically distribute themselves from top to bottom based on the order of the cards, the column setting of the form, and the width of individual cards.

One of your responses said you posted a Gif, but I don't see it.

    Yes, that's the issue.

I see the column setting now. I think this is the answer! I don't understand it but it seems to be working. I mean, many of the fields were 300px but even the full width fields would not stay put where I wanted them. Making the form 2 columns is allowing me to put the fields were I want them. I can even tell some fields to be full width without interrupting the majority of 2 column fields.

If the form is set to just one column there is no way to get cards side by side.  Its only when columns is set to more than one that you have some ability to arrange things.

@anthonys123 I have found that setting the columns to 12 gives you more control over where to place cards and results in fewer strange things happening.
