Approval flow requiring >= n approvers

Hi,

I need to create an approval flow where a group of 10 people are asked to approve a document.

For the document to be approved, any 2 of the 10 people need to "Approve" the document (the number of required approvers may change). This would then trigger a subsequent action.

Alternatively for the document to be rejected, any 1 of the people could "Reject". That would also trigger a subsequent action.

I've seen lots of solutions that require just 1 approver, or which require ALL approvers, or which ask different people for approvals in parrallel....but I have yet to see anyone solution to my problem.

Any help will be very gratefully received.

    Hello,

I have a similar issue. I need a flow that mirrors the following business logic:

    - when document added to folder

    - request approval from a group of named individuals

    - when any 2 of these individuals have approved, end approval process and move the file to a different folder

The order of the approvals is not important, but I need 2 approvers from a group of 7-8 in order to trigger the next action.

I wish there was a way I could store the number of approvals in a variable and check that variable after each response.

Then when the number of approvals reaches 2 (or whatever), I end the approval process and trigger the next action.

Anyone know if/how this is possible?

That is currently not available in the Approval action of Power Automate. The available options are Everyone must approve, first to respond, wait for all responses, wait for one response. You can submit it as an idea on the Power Automate ideas page for it to be included in the future.
