The SP When an item is created or modified action is not working for the new created items

This action makes no sense. Yet I have to use it to make the switch work!

If I modified an item, it kicks off.

But when a new item is created, nothing...it just sits there....Why? And how do I fix this?

I tried to use an update an item action below it but got an error:

The API 'sharepointonline' returned an invalid response for workflow operation 'Update_item_4' of type 'OpenApiConnection'. Error details: 'The API operation 'PatchItem' is missing required property 'body/Title'.'

This is my flow....

    Hi @Holly_CMS ,

You have probably already checked this, make sure you don't have a trigger condition that is preventing your flow to start on creation in your test item.  I can't think of anything else.

    @Holly_CMS

Can you show where the error is occurring? In my experience, this error occurs because you deleted and added a different trigger or action, but another action further down is still holding on to the deleted value. This value needs to be removed or updated accordingly to the new trigger or action.

I added the condition/Update in hopes that it would trigger the created ones...this is where I got the API error.

If I take that out and leave it as....

It just runs and doesn't kick off those created...This just does NOT make sense at all...

What are the columns shown in your "Update item 4" action? It seems to be upset that you are missing a required field. If you aren't using the Title column in your SharePoint list, you will need to turn off the setting that makes it a required field. Otherwise, it means you need to update the Title value in that action because it's pointing to one that may not exist anymore.

Side note, this could also occur if you changed a connection in the flow and are attempting to run your test based on a previous run. The old run wouldn't have the new connection, so you would need to trigger your flow from a new test row.

I think the flow is corrupted. Going to rebuild it and see what happens...BRB

It's working now after rebuilding the first part.

    It was definitely corrupted 😕

Nice! I'm going to keep this in mind for next time.

Anytime! It just got so weird firing errors that didn't even come up. This has happened to me a couple times on other flows that made no sense at all to fail.

Thank you for the help, thou!!! 🙂
