How to use Send an HTTP Request to SharePoint to modify existing folder sharing link in SharePoint?

Dear Microsoft Community,

I’m reaching out to seek guidance on using the "Send an HTTP Request to SharePoint" action in Power Automate to modify existing sharing links for files/folders in SharePoint.

For example below Current Scenario:

  • I successfully shared a folder (e.g., "TEST") with an external email address (personal email address) using "Send an HTTP Request to SharePoint", first granting EDIT access.
  • When I repeated the action to grant VIEW access, it created a new sharing link instead of modifying the existing one.

What I'd like to Achieve:

  1. Modify/Change permissions from 'Can Edit' to 'Can View' or 'Can’t Download' of the same sharing link
  2. Add/remove external users from the same sharing link
  3. Delete/revoke the existing sharing link entirely

Currently, these actions can be done manually via SharePoint’s "Manage Access" settings (see screenshot below for reference).

Could you please advise / guide me on how to achieve this programmatically via Power Automate? Any insights, sample HTTP requests, or documentation references would be greatly appreciated

Thank you so much in advance!

    I have done some testing in the interface. It seems like you can use a POST request for modifying the permission from edit to view.

    Make sure you set the role to 1 and user the ShareId property to refer to your existing sharelink.

    Below is an example

    {"request":{"createLink":true,"settings":{"linkKind":6,"expiration":null,"role":1,"restrictShareMembership":true,"shareId":"980569d7-9ad6-4d53-8172-722c8f0dbd6a","scope":2,"nav":""},"emailData":{"body":""}}}

    Happy to help out 😁
