Solution failed to import: invalid to create component connectionreference with the same export key value(s) as an existing component

So in theory the new Connection Reference looks great!

https://flow.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/move-flows-across-environments-without-resetting-connections/

However it seems to be influencing older solutions where I have not used the preview feature component at all:

Solution "Solution X" failed to import: It is invalid to create component connectionreference with the same export key value(s) as an existing component. Please change the key. The current value(s) are connectionreferencelogicalname: isp_sharedsharepointonline_ad2e0

It seems the solution has multiple reference to the same connector so when importing a connection reference popup appears:

SolutionImportConnectionReference.png

and when importing it fails with the notification above.

  1. Why is a preview feature influencing my Solution that is not using the Connection Reference Component??
  2. Why can I not add one same connection in the target environment to multiple connection references in a solution??

    @Django

    I had this issue yesterday so you can click on your flow and click Add Required components

    Export -> Reimport this shall work

    Thank you @Mira_Ghaly, this is definitely something to keep in mind!

    In my case the connections were already a component in my solution but you need to select a specific view within the solution to see them:

    Apparently the All view of the Solution does not show All (yet) 😂

    After I removed the duplicate connections, republished, exported and imported the error was gone so from now on this will be part of my solution check. Especially when you are working with multiple developers on one solution, you can expect duplicate connections...

    Glad it worked, can you please mark the solution as Accepted so others can find it.
