Using a New File trigger to send an e-mail to a sharepoint team.

I've been having a lot of difficulty with this functionality, and wonder if anyone could shed some light on why it's just not working for me.

I can dynamically send an e-mail to a listing of team members using a schedule trigger. What it does is detects all the group members of a sharepoint, and then sends a simple e-mail to each of those users. That's for reference if anyone needs it.

My next hurdle is i want an e-mail to go out when a new file is created in a specific sharepoint directory. That was also easy to accomplish.

The problem is that when my trigger is "When a file is created in a folder" I want it to "List group members" - that errors out every single time.

The file is in the same team as the names i'm trying to get. The error message looks to be "This action violates your org's data loss prevention policy (DLP). "

Does anybody have this actually working or have suggestions? Is this an IT question i should be asking of them in my company?

See if you have sufficient permissions to access the Power Platform admin center to view the DLP policies.  If not you'll need to contact one of your organizations administrators.  What I suspect is happening is that the two connectors you are using are not classified as the same kind of data, so you can't use them in a flow together.  If that's true you'll need an admin to modify the policy.
