I have a daily report that is being saved to a folder which needs to compare unique values to a list and add new items for new Unique values. Flow succeeds but nothing happens

I have a flow below that when a file (CSV) is created it gets the file properties, which uses the path and gets the file content.  I also get the List (BOE) content that I want to reference.  I am attempting to reference the 'Session Unique ID' (SUID) field in both outputs and if the SUID in the file does not exist in the BOE list, then I want a new BOE item created with the corresponding information from the file content.  The flow says it runs successfully, but nothing happened.

I don't know how to reference specific columns in the file.  The only dynamic option I have available for the file content is 'File Content'

I have removed those from the file creation step.

I have no doubt the flow probably needs corrected as well.  Please help!!

    Dear JTischler,

"I don't know how to reference specific columns in the file.  The only dynamic option I have available for the file content is 'File Content'"

Your source file is a CSV and you expect to use specific items from this file in your 'Create item' action. You will need to 'read' the data in the file and create an array output, not just work with the file.

There are several ways for this:

    • Probably easiest is to save the CSV as an excel, create a table in the excel and read the excel table with a 'List rows in table' action. The output of this action is an array which allows you to pick specific data elements  for your 'Create item' action.
    • You could also try and build an array from the CSV directly ... I am not familiar with this, but suspect you can do this. If you want to follow this, suggest you do some more specific focum/video instruction searches.

    Hope the suggestion helps,

    Happy flowing,

    Koen
