Update row: Row ID not found in excel when key value is present - Please help! 🙏

I've been having problems with update row not being able to find row ID even though the value was present in the Excel file.

I have two forms. The first form generates an application ID which is added to the table and is sent to the person entering the second form, which they enter into the form. This helps match up to separate forms with new information.

On my automation I set up a dynamic key value that populates from the second form entry. But no matter what I try it can't find the row ID. I've tried debugging this with AI for about a year, and it still doesn't work. Even when I manually enter in the value rather than have a dynamic value it still won't find it.

I've tried creating new tables in case the formatting was wrong, I've tried generating application codes that contain letter not just numbers, get row, delete row. Nothing works

Please help I am getting desperate.... But I just can't give up! It will save me so much time if I can get this to work.

Your Update a row action is trying to change the key column while also using it to find the row:

When the key column (ItemID) is included in the body, Excel Online (Business) can’t match the row and returns 404 – No row was found.

In “Update a row” remove the ItemID field from the body entirely.

Let me know if it worked!

Danke   for your response I appreciate it! :-) I hope you are well in Basel, I have been there it is a very beautiful place.

So you're saying the key column cannot be updated by the connector? The challenge I was having was this was also happening in 'get row' which had no update column options.

I actually ended up fixing it using a somewhat complex workaround! First I listed the rows present in a table, then I used a filter array that matched the application ID that was 1) generated in the first New Hire manager's form 2) sent to the onboarding employee in an email along with the Onboarding Form and 3) entered by the employee in the Onboarding Form.

I then hard coded a compose step to extract the Last Name from the array with the matching application ID.

If an application ID record exists then it updates the row based on the Last Name of the person on that record.

For some reason, the last name key column worked just fine and I could even update it if the second form entry had submitted a new last name. I also had a lot of trouble matching a column based on a phone number. I'm very puzzled as to why this is. But anyway, it worked!!!!!
