Website URL replaces commas with +?

Hi all.

I am facing an issue accessing a specific URL containing both % signs and , signs.

I am saving the URL in a variable and accessing the variable with the "go to website" action.

The URL looks like this:

https://website.com/single/?appid=Idoftheapp&sheet=idofthesheet&opt=ctxmenu,currsel&select=$::Year,2021,2022,2023&select=$::group,Danish%20Support,Denmark%20CC,FI%20Not%20Avail,NL%20Tacx%20Support,Nordic%20FI%20Office,Nordic%20FI%20office,Nordic%20Marine%20Suppor,Nordic%20OM,Nordics,Norway%20CC,Sweden%20Contact%20Cente,sweden%20contact%20cente&qlikTicket=cW4pThgjfsCHiXWg

To parse the % signs, I have set the variable to this value:

%'https://website.com/single/?appid=Idoftheapp&sheet=idofthesheet&opt=ctxmenu,currsel&select=$::Year,2021,2022,2023&select=$::group,Danish%20Support,Denmark%20CC,FI%20Not%20Avail,NL%20Tacx%20Support,Nordic%20FI%20Office,Nordic%20FI%20office,Nordic%20Marine%20Suppor,Nordic%20OM,Nordics,Norway%20CC,Sweden%20Contact%20Cente,sweden%20contact%20cente&qlikTicket=cW4pThgjfsCHiXWg'%

This works fine for the Percentage signs, but when I try to go to the website, all the commas are changed to + signs?

I can't figure out how to fix this. I have tried using the special character %2C as a comma, but this did not work either as is treated literally as %2C rather than parsed into Commas.

I'm thinking the issue is the %''% containing the actual URL, so I tried to add a % sign to each existing % sign, so the value of the variable would look like this:

https://website.com/single/?appid=idofapp&sheet=idofsheet&opt=ctxmenu,currsel&select=$::Year,2021,2022,2023&select=$::group,Danish%%20Support,Denmark%%20CC,FI%%20Not%%20Avail,NL%%20Tacx%%20Support,Nordic%%20FI%%20Office,Nordic%%20FI%%20office,Nordic%%20Marine%%20Suppor,Nordic%%20OM,Nordics,Norway%%20CC,Sweden%%20Contact%%20Cente,sweden%%20contact%%20cente&qlikTicket=cW4pThgjfsCHiXWg

However, this still gives me issues with the commas turning into plusses when I send the variable to the browser.

Anyone got any tips on how to get PAD/Chrome to parse the commas correctly? I haven't had this issue before, but then again I don't think I have had URLs with both % and , before.

    Take the original URL

    Do an "Escape Text" action on the URL which will give you a new variable %EscapedText%

    Then try using %EscapedText% in the URL parameter of Launch Browser

    Good luck!

    Hi.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

    I did try Escape Text, but that left many parts of the total URL with some wrong characters, like https://www.website.com would be https://www/.website/.com

    I ended up segmenting the URL into things requiring a use of Escape Text action and things that did not and then putting them together in a variable.

    Not an elegant solution, but seems it was the only way to fix this.
