@Mention Feature in Model-Driven App Notes: Enabling Dynamics App or Alternatives?

Hello Community,

I’m looking for insights into the @mention feature in model-driven app notes.

We’ve been trying to utilize the @mention functionality in our model-driven app’s notes section and have enabled/disabled all related features in the Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC) as follows:

  1. Enabled the Monthly Channel.

  2. Activated the @mention feature under Collaboration (Enable @mention feature → Save).

  3. Turned on In-App Notifications in the app’s settings.

  4. Disabled the modern rich text editor for notes.

Despite these configurations, the feature isn’t working. After reviewing our setup, I realized that when creating our environment, we overlooked enabling the Dynamics App, which appears to be a prerequisite for using certain features.

This brings me to my question:
Are there any options to enable the Dynamics App in an existing environment? If not, what alternatives exist for implementing the @mention feature—perhaps using JavaScript or custom code?

For reference, we raised a support ticket with Microsoft over 35 days ago but haven’t received much assistance. Creating a new environment isn’t viable since this is a well-established production setup.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I noticed an existing thread for the same issue, but nothing seems working for my case How to mention or tag users in Model-Driven Power App?

Thanks.

    Hello,

First, navigate to the Power Platform admin center and locate the environment where you want to install the app. Then, go to the Resources section and select Dynamics 365 apps. From there, browse and choose the specific Dynamics 365 app you wish to install.

Once the installation is complete, edit your Model-Driven App by going to Settings > Features, and enable In-App Notifications.

    Cheers! 🎉

Note: I too was fortunate enough to be stuck on this issue for a considerable amount of time
