Hello Community,
In the Model-Driven Power App in Dataverse (without any Dynamics 365 apps), is there a way we can "mention" or "tag" other system users? Since the Post on Timeline feature requires a Dynamics 365 app, is there another way to allow system users to communicate with each other using mention or tag in the Model-Driven Power App?
Any insights would be appreciated.
Thank you!
Hey @bluejay365 , it looks like we found a solution for our issue. We were missing the "Share" privilege on our custom table that is related to the activity table. After adding the Share privilege (set to Org) to the custom table for the user's security role, the @ mentions people picker started to appear for the user. Hope this helps!
Hi @ippolitk, Thank you for your message. The ticket with Microsoft is ongoing. It hasn't been resolved yet. If any progress is made, I will definitely post what I learn. The @ mentions would be quite useful for us.
Hi @bluejay365,
Thanks for documenting the issue and your experience. We are facing with the exact same problem, I was wondering if you able to resolve this issue after opening a ticket with Microsoft?
Hi @fareehashaikh,
Your time is appreciated. Your clear notes, will no doubt, be of help to many others.
I opened a ticket with Microsoft, but do not yet have a solution, but am glad you were able to get it to work on your end. Thank you again.
Hi,
I am sorry if it is still not working. This seems weird. I did the following steps:
1) Enabled Monthly Channel by going to Environment -> Settings ->Product-> Behavior-> App Release Channel -> Monthly Channel -> Save.
2) Enable @mention feature by going to Environment -> Settings -> Product->Features -> Enable @mention feature -> Save.
3) Enable In App Notifications in App's Settings.
4) Disable modern rich text editor for notes.
5) Publish all the changes.
Above steps worked for me. Hopefully, your user's do have App Notification privileges in their security role.
If after all this it doesn't work, please go to Microsoft with your issue. I also created a ticket with Microsoft and they referred me this modern rich text editor problem, that it does not support @mention.
Thanks.
Hi @fareehashaikh,
Thank you so much for looking into it. I had not seen the documentation you shared. Unfortunately, I made the change and like @TaraAssadipour, the "@mention" did not work. Any chance you were able to get it to work? Thank you again.
Hi @fareehashaikh , I did what you suggested but mention still does not work!
Hi @bluejay365 ,
I have finally cracked the code of this issue. @mention used to work in classic rich text editor. But it does not work in modern rich text editor. As per this documentation: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/model-driven-apps/rich-text-editor-control
The solution is, that you can disable modern rich text editor only for notes. Like shown in the screenshot. Once it is done, @mention will start to work.
