Subgrid not showing related records

Hi everyone,

I have 2 tables in dataverse with a 1:N connection. The 1st table lists general records with service orders and the 2nd one the details of the orders. What I did:

- I created a 1:N relation in my 1st table

- I created a lookup column in my 1st table

- I created my subgrid with the ability of selecting a view and the related content selected.

No success, the subgrid isn't showing the related content. What I did wrong ? Thanks for the help.

Regards

    Hi @blaisecorneloup ,

Why have you added lookup column on 1st table?

You don't need to add lookup column because when you add 1:N relationship between two table, platform automatically creates a lookup field n related entity.

    Hi @bipinshan ,

I created a lookup column because dataverse didn't create it...

@blaisecorneloup I believe there is some kind of misunderstanding. When 1:N/N:1 relationship is created lookup that points to the parent entity is automatically created in the child entity.

    Hi @blaisecorneloup ,

You don't need to create the lookup field on 1st table, it should be created in 2nd table.

    Thanks,

    Bipin

    Hi,

Ok I understand. I removed the lookup column and recreated the relation, but still the same issue, nothing appears.

I've had the same problem: editable subgrid, with "related records" selected, but instead of the related records, all of the records are shown, all the time.

This is how I fixed it.

First you need to switch to the "Classic" form editor, then in the "Editable Grid" properties you need to change the record type to "any record type", it doesn't matter which table and view you choose at this point... then save and publish.

    Close the editor.
Then, still in the classic mode, go back to the form editor, editable grid properties, and reselect "related records only" and choose the correct table and view you wanted to use.

    This worked for me.

For this to work, the lookup field must be created in table 2 which is the details of the order (DETAILS-CHILD), this will treat table 1 orders as the (HEADER-PARENT). I can't create the parent as a sub to the child.

I had another issue in the view that parent table was missing in the Related table drop down list. I finally resolved by enable the "Searchable" option in the relationship setting.
Not sure if my solution can work for your issue. but you may give a try.
The following is the details of my issue and soluton, just for your reference.
