Pass variable from powerapps to flow

Hi,

I'm trying to pass a variable created in powerapps, to a flow I have created.

Is this possible? If not variables then what can be passed to flow?

I have enabled the flow within my powerapp. I have looked for the 'Ask for Powerapp' in dynamic content but can't find it.

My requirements for the powerapp is to allow a user to choose an email address from a drop down. Then choose another email address, from another drop down. Then click Send Approval. This then sends the two email addresses to the flow so it can start an approval process on it.

    Hi @cardinalpipkin,

Do you want to send approval request to the two email addresses that are passed from PowerApps?

I have made a test on my side and please take a try with the following workaround:

    Create a flow:

    • Add “PowerApps” trigger
    • Add “Start an approval” action, specify Approval type and Title. In Assigned to field, select “Ask in PowerApps” content of PowerApps for twice.12.JPG

    Create a PowerApps app:

    • Configure PowerApps app as below13.JPG

    • With “Send Approval” button selected, select Flows on Action tab. In the pane that appears, select the flow that you create above.
    • In the formula bar, type the formula as below:14.JPG

The flow works successfully as below:15.JPG

More details about starting a flow in PowerApps app, please check the following document:

    Best regards,

    Kris

As I said, most clear. Except it's not working for me, I've got almost identical to you, but it's showing the red wavy line underneath it.

I demonstrate how to do this in my video on Exporting to PDF using PowerApps and Flow -

I also have a video that covers general variables usage in PowerApps -
