Promote SharePoint news articles to Teams

I want to be able to promote SharePoint news articles to Microsoft Teams channel and wonder if its possible. Not sure whats the best way to promote it, but maybe have a specific tag/term for the news article that I want to promote. Or something similar.

Is it possible? Anyone done something similar?

I don't think that's possible. These are the only triggers that SharePoint supports.

So nothing related to news or other items.

Hi @Akourt, it is possible in theory although I've not done it yet but am planning to as we want news from one of our sites to be posted to the Teams channel. You can use a SharePoint "When an item is created" trigger on the Site Pages list and then have a condition for PromotedState is equal to 2 which means it's a published news item. In the If yes green channel you can then add a "Post your own adaptive card as the Flow bot to a Teams channel" action. You'd need to paste in the JSON into the Message box in the action and that's the bit I haven't yet done. Once I work it out and figure out how to include an image from the news story I'll post again.

Hey @RobElliott . I tried to use a "for selected item" trigger, format a column with a button for each news article, that activates the flow and sends a message to teams. It works so far, but haven't been able to extract the pictures yet from the news article and send it to teams.
