Hello all,

Has anyone managed to get working this Workday HCM -> Get Employee Personal Info or Get Employee Employment Info on Copilot Studio. By the documentation https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/workdayhcm/#get-employee-personal-info, this connection SHOULD accept Employee ID or Workday ID, but neither one of those are working.

Connection itself is working, but it always returns this?

The connector 'Workday HCM' returned an HTTP error with code 500. Inner Error: Validation error occurred.
Employee Reference Integration ID does not exist! Error code: ConnectorRequestFailure. Conversation ID:
25e10b49-3560-4b12-a103-983c88fe4946. Time (UTC): 7/30/2025 12:12:09 PM.

This Employee ID definitely exists on the Workday side as it is Logan McNeil's

Could you please double check 'System ID' ?
The doc says ‘The integration system identifier, part of a key that uniquely identify integratable object.’.
I have doubts about 21001 as a System ID.

I found an article which told that you should change the system ID type to WD-EMPLID and then it works

But in Copilot Studio, you cannot change the values as they come from dropdown menu

So in my opinion, there is a bug in this tool.

Then I tried to add Workday SOAP operation tool and thought that I could use that and generate the SOAP request body my self, but this is not working at all

    Thanks for the extra info.
Is that possible that change the System ID type to automatically, and try those id values ?
what about the test in Power Automate ?

@MH-30071230-0 were you able to get this working? I'm having the same issue as you. I'm using Employee ID in System ID Type from the dropdown. I'm using WD-EMPLID for System ID, but I still receiving the same error response you received above in your original post.
