Conditional Approval

Hi All, Very new to PA and struggling to make this flow.

I have a sharepoint list where sales opportunities are housed, depending on the area of the business these opportunities touch the approval to move forward will be assigned to a different person. Is it possible to enter an item into the list, select from a drop down the department, and have PA send the approval to the applicable department head?

Also wondering if the Approvals function will record WHO did the approval, I can see that the APPROVED status is applied when it's approved but is it possible to have a field to show who actually approved for record keeping?

    Conditional Approval
    Hi,

Yes this is very doable.  You would start with a trigger When an item is created then start and wait for an approval.  The approver will be the dynamic content from your list that is the department head.  It can be a column with their email address or from a people picker column; either way you will select their email for the approver field.

Next you can include a conditional action which states if the approval outcome equals approve, update item and change status to approved.  If not approved, update item and change status to denied.

I like to write the comments about the approver (and their comments) in the item comments field, such as Approved by:  _______ with note _________________.

If this was helpful, please like and/or mark as a verified answer to help others find this too!

    Always glad to help! 💯💯💯💯💯
