Email connector not recognising when attachment is another Email

Hi

Within my organisation a colleague has set up an automated email to be sent from a program called cyberquery which provides me with an Excel file.  The problem I am having is that the automated email has another email attached to it and this email is the one with the Excel file attached.

Using the Power Automate Outlook connector I can set it up so as when an email is received it checks for attachments, this works perfectly if I have an Excel (or any) file attached but it doesn't work if I have an email.  See images to explain further.

Is there a way I can get Power Automate to pick up the Email attachment, that way I can then extract the Excel file from it.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello @GFinlayTerumo ,

Power Automate doesn't recognize .eml attachments, it'll not recognize that another email is attached and therefore it's not possible to process in PA.

I have the same problem. Since the flow didn't recognize the eml file, it sent another request for information to the supplier. This didn't make them too happy about the 'bot'.

As can be seen above, the flow recognizes that there is an attachment, so the other branch in my flow (no attachment) is not triggered either.

I had to go back to the people who were providing the email and get them to sort it so as the initial email sent included the attachment, there was no other way around it.

    Hi All,

Is there any solution or update planned for that? I am having the same issue and this is a huge setback for the automations that we have in my company. We have a flow to save everything that is attached to specific emails sent, however that does not work for .msg files which happen to be added to most of the emails 😞
