Can It run when the computer is locked? or it has to be unlocked for the RPA to work?

If you have any UI automation actions in your flow, or use any applications that run on the scope of the user (such as SQL connectivity or using OneDrive or some network drives) you will need to have your machine unlocked. Otherwise it could run when the machine is locked.

I've been using this for some time now on my premium free trial. Now I have to buy license, but I don't know if this is categorized as an attended flow or unattended. Microsoft doesn't say anything about it, and I can't find any information on it.

In any case, Microsoft Power Automate Premium is the license that can cover this. It is supposed to be considered as attended, because the Windows Task Scheduler is not able to make Power Automate login to the machine to run a flow. So, it would technically only work with an active user session.

I have seen a lot of answers telling people to use

    PAD.Console.Host.exe

But in modern windows installations where you downloaded power automate with the app store or it came preinstalled on your computer, this won't be in your program files.

In this case, or likely even that file is available to you, I have found an alternative.

It still requires that you have a premium license. But once you do, you can go into your settings on power automate desktop and uncheck "Display confirmation dialog when invoking flows externally"

Then, you go to the ... on your flow and select "Create Desktop Shortcut".

Go to your desktop, right click the shortcut and hit "copy as path".

Go to your task scheduler and create a new task. Go to action.

Under program/script put just the text:
    cmd

Under arguments put something like the following:
    /c start "" "C:\Users\<UserName>\OneDrive - lspower.com\Desktop\<flowName - Power Automate.url>"

Then save it and try to run it. It should work.
