Fix for - Failed to assume control of Microsoft Edge

Hi,

In case this saves anyone else from spending an afternoon un-installing browser extensions, rebooting servers and so on I thought I'd post my experience here.

I applied the latest PAD update to our server last week but did not restart the server. After restarting it today I could not get PAD to control either Edge or Chrome.

I then un-installed PAD and installed an older version that I downloaded in November, to my relief I could control Edge again. I've now updated to the latest version and tested multiple server restarts and all is now fine.

This may seem like common sense to re-install PAD, but it seemed sensible to work through this KB article first Error ‘Failed to assume control of Microsoft Edge/Chrome/Firefox’

I have the same question (0)
