Facing error while pressing button from the web action the error message is "failed to get save button (failed to get window)" in power automate desktop version

I am trying to automate the steps to download files from a web portal , In the documents we need to click on an print icon , then it will open file in another tab and there we need to click on ctrl+ p and then save as pdf(will be there automatically) and then we need to click on save button.

So, the flow will run till ctrl+ p , then after that we got the error with message that "failed to get save button (failed to get window).

Can anyone have any solution for this issue.

Can you provide more details on your existing flow? Some screenshots of what you are trying to do and the actions you have used? It seems to me like you might be trying to press a web page button with an action for pressing local application buttons or vice versa. But it's not very clear from your description. Screenshots would help.

I am writing steps here , which we are following in flow:-

Launching Microsoft edge -> populating text fields for username and password-> Press login button on web page-> then clicking link for received documents -> clicking link for search button -> then clicking link for print icon in the documents section -> that file opens up in another tab -> then using send keys action , ctrl+p in foreground window -> then using pressing the save button in window action to save the file .

Here at pressing the save button step, it gets failed with error message "failed to get save button (failed to get window).

Hi @RITISH ,

As the save buttton is in new tab it is not able to focus that or find that, so please use focus window before the save button click. the action look like the in the below shown image.

Click on select window and then select the second tab.

Does it open Windows file explorer -window like so:

Then you should change pressing the save button to UI action instead of browser action. Also retake the element since that UI window and not browser window.

Check the UI element by testing it when the save button is visible in your screen.
Since it gives error "failed to get save button (failed to get window)" I would check that the window element is correct.

So open the window(parent) element and see if it has some attributes in it that are dynamic. So maybe there is for example URL attribute that is little bit different each run.
