Hi,
i have a more general question. i would like to have an icon that lets me open a phone's camera app, take a picture of something, then patch the image url (pdf or jpg) into a sharepoint column. what would be the easiest way to go about this?

Where do you expect this button to sit, since its not buttons on the home pages etc, its icons.
Also, I would suggest that you actually use a Canvas App for the phone. And you could have it in fact load, take the picture blah blah.

any of these can take the photo if you mean automatically. I am assuming you just want to make it a one button push to do all the work for users (ease of use).

So i ended up making major headway. I am using the Add picture media function, specifically the addMediaWithImage control. i have it patching to my sharepoint list in an image column (type: image or hyperlink) using a submit button = {Image: UploadedImage.Image} and have also tried {Image: AddMediaButton.Media}, but on my sharepoint list the hyperlink takes me to a 404: Not Found... I have attached a picture of what my link looks like. not sure what the Session Storage file path is.... any ideas?
So are you uploading the image, or the link? Or do you have a separate column for the link?
The link you provided there, is from the Phone, so it won't work from SharePoint. Once you upload it into SharePoint, you should have gotten the link from that, or you have to get the link from SharePoint.
yes at the moment I think i am uploading the image, using the {Image: AddMediaButton.Media} thing. and my "image" column in sharepoint is formatted to accept a hyperlink i believe. i am not particularly interested in showing the image in the sharepoint, i would prefer the image url in a jpg or pdf format so then you just click the link and it opens up the image. what could i do to achieve this?
