Formatting the date in the Planner template

Greetings,
I have done the research on the answer to this question, but perhaps the syntax has changed when this question was last discussed.
 
I'm using PA Cloud, standard template, no customizations yet, but the date format is the standard 
2024-10-21T10:00:00Z
 
For some reason when I apply the expression as mentioned in previous posts, I keep getting errors.
 
Should be an easy one and your help is greatly appreciated.
 
 
Preferred date format: MM/DD/YYYY.  When I try this expression: 
formatDateTime(items('Iterate_through_tasks')?['completedDateTime'],'MM/dd/yyyy')
 
I get this error:

    To answer your question, it would be helpful if you post the error message. Otherwise, we can only guess your issue. The date format you show is the ISO 8601 date format, which would be the correct format and has not changed.

    I was able to get this formula to work, even though PA Cloud kept saying it's an invalid expression.
     
    if(empty(items('Iterate_through_tasks')?['completedDateTime']),'',formatdatetime(items('Iterate_through_tasks')?['completedDateTime'],'MM/dd/yyyy'))
