UI expression lost when switching to dynamic tab

I have a frusting UI related issue that sometimes works and other times does not.

When going into the expression builder and selecting or keying a formula and then switching to the dynamic content tab, the formula is erased. I then have to click back to the expression tab and start again. Recently it has become worse. I'm using chrome browser v77 on OSX. Am I doing something wrong?

    No, you are doing it the right way.  I don't have OSX available for testing, but I would try it in a different browser. Because exactly what you are doing works for me on Windows 10 using chrome.

    I tried Safari and the same issue. I then tried Firefox and it works. Very strange - but thank you
