How can I fix the message "The requested action could not be completed"

from File System service at on-premises data gateway ?

My on-premises data gateway's environment:

OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard

Domain: WORKGROUP - no-AD.

Connect via on-premise data gateway : Checked.

ROOT FOLDER : \

AUTHENTICATION TYPE : Windows

USERNAME : Administrator

PASSWORD : <Administrator's password>

GATEWAY : <machine name>

I want to create my flows with On-premises Data Gateway and File System service.

Regards,

Yoshihiro Kawabata

It looks like the problem is with the value you have for root folder. "\" isn't a valid value, because you have to enter a rooted path. The gateway does not have any sort of default location, so a relative path like that does not specify a specific location on your machine. A correct path would be look like either "C:\.." or "\\MACHINE-NAME\..."

Hi @zachr, thank you for your reply, and advices.

Root "C:\" in On-Premises data gateway of File System is same error.

"The requested action could not be completed.

Check your request parameters to make sure the entity exists on your file system."

Oh, sorry, I should have seen this in my first reply as well, but the username has to include the domain, so if you're using a workplace domain joined machine it would be the domain of that account. If you're not domain joined you just need machine name for domain (MACHINE-NAME\Administrator for example). So based on what you said in your first post, if your domain is WORKGROUP, WORKGROUP\Administrator should work.

Thank you, @zachr for your quick help.

File System service with On-Premises Data Gateway work fine,

by USERNAME = <Machine name>\<Username> in On-Premises Data Gateway setting.

I will build my flows with File System service.
