PowerAutomate Approval workflow is not triggering on Pending status

I have an approval workflow that triggered every time that a SharePoint document was added or modified within a library.  I turned on versioning, require content approval for publishing and while it seemed to take quite a while, it would trigger an approval request when an item was modified.

I have just updated the workflow to trigger only on 'Pending' status so that approvers would stop getting so much noise from documents that were autosaving during online viewing.

Trying to test the workflow, it is not triggering, although I am updating the document in the target library.  The workflow checker is good.

Help?

    Hi @Anonymous

Could you share the expression used in the trigger condition?

The expression seems correct, so the workflow should be triggered. Could you remove it and do a test to check which value is returning from SharePoint?

Removed the trigger action as follows:

Tested and it did run, showing the whole process executed, but it couldn't have because there should have been an email notification sent to an approver, who would have had to approve it to complete the process.  That didn't happen, you can tell by the speed of the process below.   It looks like the process ran without those steps.

Let me know if this helps.  Thank you!

Ok fellow community members, the built in SharePoint approval workflow will send an approval request to the library owner(s) if a file is added AND/OR modified.  So this was a much simpler fix, using SharePoint library and versioning instead of power automate.  My approval flow is working in SharePoint.
