Update Folder Properties after Filter Request

(0) ShareShare

Scenario:

I update a folder metadata in one library

in two other libraries the same folder name exists and i want to update the metadata to the same as the "main" one.

I am able to filter out the names etc but when it comes to applying the changes to the folder with the same name in a different library it fails

start of the flow

The variables are the name and stage of the folder modified

this is the properties i am filtering. folders only

    Hi @Sarnst,

You can probably simplify things by adding the filter for the title in the Filter Query field like the FSObjType filter. This avoids the usage of the Filter Array.

    Try something like below.

(FSObjType eq 1) and (FileLeafRef eq '@{triggerOutputs()?['body/Title']}')

Thx this seems to work. However if i insert the condition to see if the name is there the results tell me it's false. even though the name is there and in the raw inputs? then in the apply to each nothing happens when i update the file. Can i update the properties of a folder?

    Hi @Sarnst,

Does your Get Files action have any results?

The FileLeafRef (internal name for the Name field) is already used to check if the name is there. So, a condition would not really be necessary for this.

However, a condition could be useful to check if the Get Files comes up with 0 results. In that case you want to skip the update properties of a folder actions.

What kind of properties do you want to update for the folder? Can you share a bit more details? This way I can adapt the example I shared earlier.

This now worked. for sharing purposes

This will filter out a folder in other document library with the same name as in the library where it's also at

Then change the properties in this case stage the same as the others so everyone is up to date

    Hi @Sarnst,

That is exactly what I wanted to propose in my next reply. Great to see you figured it out by yourself and thanks for sharing. Nice job! 🙂
