Power flow trigger taking a very long time and failing at the end

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to create a flow within powerbi to refresh the data. I've added a button using power automate within powerbi desktop app to create the flow. But everytime I trigger it it takes a long time and laters gives error:
"Looks like your flow's operation is hitting an action limit designed to protect the connector service being called."

This is a very simple flow for only refreshing a dataset, yet, I dont know whats wrong, its not being successfully triggered. First time, I was able to which took around 10 minutes, but now, its taking over 13 minutes and failing.

    Hi @raminmaharjan

There is a limitation in Power BI refresh:  refresh action is limited to eight refreshes per day.

Power Automate triggered refreshes as "Via API".

It's also important to call out that the shared-capacity limitation for daily refreshes applies to both scheduled refreshes and API refreshes combined.

Here are some docs for more information:

Refresh your Power BI dataset using Microsoft Flow | Microsoft Power BI Blog | Microsoft Power BI

    Hope it helps.

Thank you, yeah looks like thats the issue.

If I upgrade to power bi premium, I'll get 48 refreshes right? and i've one more question regarding premium. If i use the premium do i need the pro license or the premium one will suffice it?

    Hi @raminmaharjan

According to the official doc of data refresh in Power BI, yes, if the dataset resides on a Premium capacity, you can schedule up to 48 refreshes per day in the dataset settings.

Since here is the Power Automate forum, to get better understanding and more professional assistance, it is suggested to post your questions regarding the Power BI premium to Power BI forum.

    Best regards,

    Sylvia
