Loose form data when creating a new lookup entry

Hi,

I have created a model-driven app which has multiple required fields and lookups. The lookups are often also required.

Issue:

When the lookup table does not yet contain the required record, users create a new entry by clicking "New" in the lookup dropdown. If the lookup is required, users must discard the data they have entered before creating the new lookup entry.

 

Is there a way to save the data while creating the new lookup entry?

    I found a solution. Funny nobody mentioned it, since it is really easy. When selecting the control on the form you enable "Use Main Form Dialog for Create". Now when creating a new entry, you can do it in a popup on the form instead of changing pages. So the information does not get lost.
