Troubleshooting Dependencies - App Actions - Model Driven App

A while back, I was using Activity tables and needed a Power Fx button to "Reactivate" the records.  Since then, I've depreciated those tables and forgotten a bunch of information.  I'm now trying to import my solution and this is coming back to haunt me.

To make the export / import happen, I’ve got to fix the issue with the PowerFX “Re-Activate”.

This is an App Action.

Troubleshooting that hasn’t figured it out yet.

  • XRM toolbox to see if I had hidden the buttons
  • Brought the tables back into another model, put them on an app and checked again for the custom code
  • Brought in the Activity table and did the same, since maybe I put it on the Activity page to support all Activity tables.

Is there another way to get these gone?

I have the same question (0)

Did you delete the Component Library for your fix buttons too? It’s a separate solution item that is generated whenever you have power fx command code.

my first recommendation is to recreate the model driven app and delete the one that requires the app action. Since Component Libraries are tied to the MDA, deleting the app should delete the dependency. You can always create a new one and use the existing site map for easy re-do. If you have any other power fx buttons you’ll want to get a backup of that code.

finally I’d recommend extracting the solution zip file and viewing the the solution dependencies. Perhaps it will give you a hint at where the dependency lies in the solution.xml or customizations.xml.

Found them on the Command section for the deprecated tables.  Since I had removed them from the Solution, the tables were in the Default Solution.... Since I had created them with the PowerFX I didn't think to open the Commands section.

Ran the Solution Checker and they are gone now.  6 hours of my life...

If I had needed to go further, here's another related posting that might have helped.

I claimed success too early.  Still troubleshooting.

Needed to leverage XRMToolbox and installed the Dataverse REST Builder.

    1. Installed the Dataverse REST Builder from within the XRM Toolbuilder
    2. Opened the tool and connected it to the Environment,
    3. File > New Collection > New Request > Delete > On the Configure tab provided the GUID for the Re-Activate App Action, which was in the Common Solution into the Primary id field >
    4. Selected the Xrm.WebApi execute > Move Code to Editor >
    5. Selected Editor tab > Execute Code

Screen capture of some of the key parts of the Xrmtool box.
