[Beginner] - Creating a flow for a list, that upon the creation of a new item, checks other list items for having the same email and then deletes the other items.

Hello, i have recently started using power automate, to try to create a list i can use to send emails to a population, that arrives from a survey forms entry into the list.

What i have struggeling with, is creating a flow, that has the following logic.

When a new item is created, check the list for all other items with the same email and then delete the all the other items that had the same email as the new item, which would then hopefully result in the only list item being left with a given email, would be the newly created item.

As i am rather new to the use of power automate, I am not sure any of the toying around i have been doing, may be of much help, but so far i have created the following flow, which does not work.

If it would be smarter to make an entirely different flow, form the one i have below, i would love to hear the reasonings and practises behind it as well, so i can become mroe acquiesced with the good practises for using power automate when constructing flows.

Thank you in advance

    Hi @FrederikBJorg ,

I did a test for your reference.

    In my scenario:

    Thank you for the reply.

The flow seems to be working, in the opposite way than intended now, as when i add a new entry to the test list i have running with a similair entry, it deletes the new entries, not the older ones.

Also, i wish to notify that Power automate automatically creates the second "for each" statement, whenever i try to include into the condition, the email for the item created and the email for the rest of the items from the list, gotten with the "get items".

Should i not be using the emails from the created item and the gotten item?

    Hi @FrederikBJorg ï¼Œ

Please recreate the flow and correspond to my flow.

Remember not to confuse the source of the 'ID' in the 'Delete item' control.

Thank you for assistance, this has solved the issues at hand.

My issue with automatic creation of for each statements, were solved by creating a new flow where all things were done per inputs, from the top to bottom.

Also i learned that the this will delete items in the emailing list with case sensitivity.

You have been very helpful and thank you for your patience with me Sunshine Gu

Have a good day and a great holiday season and new year.

    Best regards

    Frederik
