Hello community.
This is a silly question but I was wondering if this is possible to do it using power desktop?
My company has a PC group policy: 5 mins then the computer locks then you have to put the password in. I know it's not fun but necessary for security. But in fact it is a pain in neck because pretty much I work from home so this really doesn't apply to me.
Now saying that. Is possible to add a desktop flow that triggers before this event start? Or something like that?
Thanks in advance for any response.
Mouse Jiggle - cycles through your screens when away and keeps your Screens, Microsoft Teams, Skype, Outlook active & green.
Keeps all your screens connected to your PC & Microsoft Teams & Outlook active & awake in Enhanced Mode.
It measures 60 seconds of inactivity on your PC & then kicks in programmatically moving the screens whether they are on 1 or more displays. (It moves the screens like Teams & Outlook back to their original positions as well) This is done with a random timer every 60 to 90 seconds.
It happens so fast you cannot see it. When you get back to your computer & use the keyboard it stops & just emits a low level screen awake as to not interfere with your work when you are working from home. At work you can switch it off or responsibly lock you screen
It is a great productivity utility as it sits in the taskbar out of your way mouse jiggler
Mahalo! 😄
Correct!.
Not an elegant solution. But it works!
Hey BTW you are in Hawaii.....Aloha!
Whoa - does it just ... constantly run on that single action?
This bad boy looks like is doing the job.
Thank you very much both. I think that the trigger is every 15 minutes if there is no activity. That will be the same trigger for the flow. But not sure if this can be achieve under those circunstances.
Thanks again.
🙂
I think it would be pretty simple: a flow with schedule start repeating every 4min or so. The flow would start a powerautomate desktop and move your mouse from actual position to 1 pixel to the right/left and done.
Of course you would need to check if it would not mess with your normal PC usage. And of course it would be an overkill solution.
@Rhiassuring suggestion of using a mouse jiggler is what you really want.
Is that 5 minutes of downtime, then triggers?
I don't think it would be possible to trigger based on "no activity for the last five minutes" since your options are things like HTTP calls or schedules - (hoping someone else will prove me wrong here.. would be intrigued to know how..!) BUT... would it be realistic to use a Mouse Jiggler app...? Those are things that exist and you just flip them on and then don't need to worry about annoying PC lock scenarios when they don't apply to you.
