Stream (Preview) generates "An unexpected error has occurred when retrieving the Stream video"

When using the "Stream (Preview)" and following the information from Stream control (based on SharePoint) in Power Apps (preview). It works when editing in the studio, but once you publish and try to run the app as an end user, it will not load. I've tried on various stream videos with different permission sets for the video and still get the same issue.

The same thing just happened to me today.
Console shows many cross origin violations (from same tenant) all of a sudden. Works in PowerApps but no on publish.
Will keep you posted on any progress.

Thanks, mate! I've also submitted a ticket to Microsoft. I will keep you posted as well if I hear from them first (They replied they'll get back to me within 48 hours)

Hi! I would be happy to hear if you guys found a solution, or got an answer from Microsoft? We are still experiencing the same exact issue.

This is what I got back from support recently on the issue. Hopefully they will fix it soon since they retired the old way of adding streams to power apps.

"This is a Preview control and may have some bugs. Preview features aren't meant to be used in production, but we encourage users to try them out to give feedback.
We're adding telemetry to help better diagnose these errors in the next release. Once that is in place, we'll be able to better understand why video fails to load."
With this being said, they are aware of the issue and are working on improvements for future releases and updates of the control.
In the meantime, as we don't have a specific date of when this will be updated, users are noted to use later versions and publish under them to mitigate or workaround the current state of the control.
I know this is not the best answer for this situation, but it gives us insight that they are working on improving the control and fixing issues like this.
I hope this helps clear up any confusion we had, and I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. "

I was able to update the authoring version of studio by adding &studio-version=v3.24062.17.299734572 to the end of the URL to access the power apps studio.

That is the last version where the sharepoint stream control works. Hope this helps others as I've been struggling with this for a couple of months.

    Hi Guys,

i have same problem and i have also opened ticket to Microsoft. Anyway i tried it in iOS and iPadOS and did this:
    1. On iOS, select Settings > go to Power Apps.
    2. Set the toggle for Allow Cross-Website Tracking to On
After this setup it WORKS ! :) .... but still only on iOS and iPadOS...
