Calculated column - should we always add conditions for empty/not null or is that not needed?

I am using several calculated columns for calculating totals, for example (Price per unit * quantity). Seems to me like there is no problem working without conditions to check if price and quantity exists (the field just shows up empty until values are added), but I was still wondering if there are good reasons to do so anyway. What are best practices?

    Hello, @HenningStrand, As you mentioned, your calculation only work when a value is added to the column that is part of your calculation formula. Not need to check for null value unless if you have an action that you need to implement in case of the null values.
