Excel and Power Query - automate refresh of datasets?

Most of my apps relies on info from an Excel that gets it using various Datasets loaded through PowerQuery.
Problem is, I have to have this Excel file opened all day so that it auto refresh. And sometimes, it won't even do that. 
So, is there a way to automate this so that the Excel updates even when the file is closed? I tried with a script that refreshes the dataSets and using PowerAutomate to run it. But nope, that won't do anything.
Appreciate your input in advance!

    Back in the VBA days, I'd have to code the opening and refresh of the data. (I can't remember if I had to close it after.) But, only then I could move forward with whatever I was doing. 
     
    Good to see they haven't tackled that problem in the last 25 years.  Good luck.
