Problems Parsing Large PDFs (50+ Pages) in AI Builder

I’m building a flow using AI Builder that takes in PDF documents and I’m running into errors with large PDFs (50+ pages).

I’d like to understand:

  1. Is there a known file‑size or page‑count limitation for PDFs in Power Automate, Power Apps, or AI Builder?

  2. Are there recommended best practices for handling or preprocessing large PDFs?

  3. Is there a reliable way to add robust chunking logic that works for unpredictable PDF sizes and structures?

  4. Any tools or connectors that handle large PDFs more gracefully?

    There is a maximum document size of 20 MB when using AI Builder for document processing in Power Automate. This is outlined in the official Microsoft documentation here:

    To handle larger PDFs or avoid timeouts, a good approach is to use page ranges. You can learn more about how to implement this in Power Automate here:
