odd behaviour approval flow

Hello All,

We are running several approval flows and the follow thing is happening.

When  PersonA  creates a list item to kick off the flow, this person should be listed in the column 'sent by' in the picture below in overview of approvals: however the person there is not PersonA.

When I then take a closer look at the run history of these flows where the wrong person was filled out as 'sent by' i notice the following:

Im assuming this didn't run because 1. the right part isn't configured correctly to only run after the above step failed and 2. if it ran the left branch by default microsoft wouldn't have the enjoyment of frustrating me for no reason.

However I can't imagine this part of the run affecting who get's listed as the Sent By column.

What could the cause then be?

the problem was that the right branch ran faster than the left and hit a termination block.

using run after config to only run the right branch after a fail solved the issue.
