How to get all messages in a Viva Engage group using Microsoft Flow

I am trying to adapt this flow
 
 
to Get_messages_in_a_group (V3) but keep getting an error message: Action 'Get_messages_in_a_group_(V3)' failed: The response is not in a JSON format.
 
This is my flow:
 
this is the parameter for the Get_messages_in_a_group (V3)
 
This is the condition to check if the messages array is empty
This is the compose to create an array with all the messages

    The issue seems to be due to this part of the flow. 
     
    This formula 
    if(equals(variables('varLastMessageID'), 0), null, variables('varLastMessageID'))
     
    returns null on the first iteration but null trigger the errror Action 'Get_messages_in_a_group_(V3)' failed: The response is not in a JSON format.
     
    Any idea how to solve it?
