Hello everybody,
I have created several flows in our company, in which mails are automatically sent. Now I will leave the company and have to hand over the flows. There is the following problem:
My email address is shown as the sender of the email. If I enter a different email address in the "Send email" process step under "From (Send as)", an error message is displayed when I try to send (I am not authorized to send an email on behalf of the specified sender account .). Even if I share someone else’s flow, I can’t provide that person’s email address as the "sender-email". Neither from my PC, nor from the other person's PC. I can not imagine that I have to recreate all flows on another PC. Can anyone tell me how that gwht? Thanks in advance and best regards
Hi there,
I wasn't successful in changing the connections, but I found a workaround.
In my case the flow was sending out automated Mails and I wanted the Mails to be sent out from a different account.
I shared the flow with the person who would take over my task. They saved a copy of the flow and ran it from their account.
It's Important that you deactivate all of your versions of the flow and the shared ones too, otherwise it will run multiple times.
This might also work in your case, thought I'd share it here 🙂
Kind regards
Sascha
For many of the connections you can select them in the list and should see a switch account link in the menu. Like this
For Approvals, and a few others, you have to log in as the other user, edit the Flow, and add a new connection using the '...' elipse menu.
Hi Pstork1,
many thanks for your response. I proceeded as in your description. I cannot make any changes under "Manage Connections". I only see the settings (screenshot):
The other owner will need to go into Flows and access the information panel about the flow. From there they can go to the connections screen. (see screenshot)
That will take them to a screen showing the connections used by the Flow. From there they can manage the connections to change which account is being used by the connection. (screenshot)
The account being used for the Approvals connection is the account used to send the email. You can't change who sends the email, but you can change the account being used for Approvals, which will change the account used to send the emails.
Hi Pstork1,
thank you for the fast answer. Where can the setting be made? I have already released a flow for another person as a test. This person can edit and change the flow, but I don't know where I can set who should be shown as the sender of the automatic email. Thank you in advance.
best regards
You won't have to recreate the flows, but make sure that someone who you have shared the flows with edits each flow and changes the connection to use their account. Unless you've hard coded the emails that should automatically change the from address.
