Batch rename files according to values in Excel worksheet

I have a flow that is meant to batch-rename a set of files according to the values in an Excel worksheet, with a column for the old file names and one for the new ones. The flow seems to run fine; however, the filenames do not update.

There are no errors, and the flow variables load correctly, so I cannot see what I'm missing.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi there,

    So I don't know if this will be helpful or not, but, I've just done what you're doing and .. it works perfectly for me:

    And really the only difference I can see is the filepath .. which... I'm guessing macs do differently.

    There's gotta be something we're missing.. hmm..

    Everything seems right in your Flow.

    Try getting the path of the Desktop from this action.

    If still not working, check the same from some other path. It should not be any system related path like Temp or Desktop or Documents etc. That will tell if it's a system folder path issue or something else.

    Thanks for your responses, @Rhiassuring  and @VJR. However, I am still having an issue. I am using a Parallels Windows virtual machine on my MacBook, so that might have something to do with it.

    I've changed the file location, but to no avail. It doesn't make sense! I will just have to keep trying, I guess.

    Yeah, I think this particular Microsoft product might hate your Mac file location.

    @VJR are there any posters in your community (lol, referring to the entire Power Automate Desktop community as your community) that are Mac users, that you know of? Anyone we could tag?

    There have been users using Mac reporting about a few issues while using PAD and also the pre-requisites page shows only Windows.

    @Statto

    1. What did the "Get Special Folder" show to you as illustrated above?

    2. Can you also try mapping the \\Mac...\Files folder to a drive label like F:\Files.. and then see if it makes any difference?
