What are the prices for using the GPT-4o mini model when using AI prompts

When reading the Power Platform Licensing Guide November 2024, the AI Builder rate card contains prices for creating AI prompts using GPT-3.5 and GPT-4o models. For GPT-3.5, the prices are 2 credits/1k input tokens and 6 credits/1k output tokens. The prices for GPT-4o are 10x those for GPT-3.5, at 20 credits/1k input and 60 credits/1k output.

However, when I go to create a custom prompt in the AI hub on power automate, the only models I can select from are GPT-4o and GPT-4o mini, which is the default selection.

My question is what are the prices for using the default GPT-4o mini?

If they are the same as the GPT-4o model, is there an option to still select GPT-3.5 as the model?

Hi,

I struggled to find this too, but found this post in my dev tenant's message centre:

AI Builder – Update to GPT-4o Mini

XXX shared a Microsoft 365 message with you.

Starting November 7, 2024 AI Builder will switch from the Azure Open AI GPT-3.5 model to the new GPT-4o Mini model (Azure OpenAI Service models).

This change will occur between November 7, 2024, and November 14, 2024, depending on your region.

How does this affect me?
After this change current prompts using GPT-3.5 will be automatically updated to GPT-4o Mini.

As part of this change, we have also updated the service credit consumption rate for the new model.


GPT 3.5	AI prompts. Create text.	Real-time Prediction	2 credits/1k input tokens 6 credits/1k output tokens	$0.001 / 1k input tokens $0.003 / 1k output tokens
GPT 4o Mini	AI prompts. Create text.	Real-time Prediction	1 credits/1k input tokens 3 credits/1k output tokens	$0.0005 / 1k input tokens $0.0015 / 1k output tokens

What action do I need to take?
After this change, we recommend testing and monitoring your prompt actions, that currently leverage the GPT-3.5 model, across Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Copilot build in Copilot Studio. Despite extensive regression and comparative testing between these models, we are unable to guarantee that every deployment will remain unaffected by this change.
