Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131904 when deleting item from a list

Hello,

I am seeing an intermittent 400 failure when my flow attempts to delete an item from a list.

Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131904
clientRequestId: a6a85b3d-80b9-4b99-918f-3d7cd575f66c
serviceRequestId: a6a85b3d-80b9-4b99-918f-3d7cd575f66c

It's only happened twice in the past, 200-some runs...which seems like a pretty great success percentage, but I'd like at least an explanation for my users if/when it happens again. I have researched a bit online and keep seeing SQL related causes, but I am not leveraging SQL at all. Any other ideas??

Thank you,
M

    Hi @Morghan

That's a strange one. SharePoint should handle that, but you should be aware that SharePoint is an enormous abstraction on top of a database, that's why you see SQL solutions all the time.

I can't provide you with a definite explanation since the error is so generic, but I would guess that since file deletion can take time. Many requests are being thrown at him, somewhere there is a timeout while the file is being deleted, the changes are being saved to the database, and the other request is received and parsed.

I know that a supposition is not a real answer, but it's the best I can provide with the information. Probably someone else here can come up with an explanation of why this happens.

If I have answered your question, please mark your post as Solved.
If you like my response, please give it a Thumbs Up.

    Cheers

I have been chasing this one for a few days. I turned off the concurrency on the loop that was deleting the rows based on the explanation above. It seems to have relieved the issue. Hoping I can find tune it some so it doesn't have to stay off completely.
