Update row with today's date displaying in MM/dd/yyyy when should be dd/MM/yyyy?

Hi everyone,
I have a flow that's working fine technically, but the final step is to update an excel row with today's date, and is being converted to MM/dd/yyyy in excel, when I see that Power Automate is returning the desired format of dd/MM/yyyy.

It's updating the correct column/row. The only issue is with the date format.

I've checked excel and the cells are formatted as date dd/MM/yyyy, the sheet is in English (UK), and I just tell why this would be happening.

When I change the call format to text, it appears correctly as dd/MM/yyyy. However this is not ideal as I plan to use some conditional formatting with the dates.

Can anyone suggest anything to fix this please?

    Yes, thanks David MA!

(The update row action was indeed using the output from the Compose action).

But the fix was done when I changed the formatDateTime(utcNow(),'dd/MM/yyyy') to formatDateTime(utcNow(),'yyyy-MM-dd', the excel sheet now shows this as the desired format.

    Thanks!

Is the update row action using the output of the compose action? If not, show how you are populating it in the update row action? One thing you may also want to try is to set the Excel action to ISO8601 date format and populate it with yyyy-MM-dd and then see if it displays using your regional settings.

    Thanks Petar Hr,
I've done what you've suggested and checked the regional language settings and it's definitely dd/MM/yyyy. Thanks for the suggestion though.

    Hi SB-12091310-0,

Looks like a region formatting issue to me. Power Automate appears to be working as expected.

One suggestion I have is to check the Short date in the regional language settings:

Control Panel > Clock and Region > Region > Additional settings > Date tab > Ensure the Short date format is set to dd/MM/yyyy.
