Switch Condition

Hi,

I built a workflow with 4 conditions , which are South, West, East and North. I left Default empty.

I found that when I submit a survey indicating South, the workflow always goes to Default rather than South case.

Could anyone tell me what I have done wrong ?

How is the value entered?  Is there any chance it includes a leading or trailing space or carriage return?  Any of those could throw off the match.

    Hi @Celestie

Can you please show us how you have configured your Switch?

You will need to have the EXACT same output in the field you are evaluating (the one that you put in the Switch itself) as how you have written it in each case.

    For example:

If my txtDirection (a variable that, let's pretend I've populated from other data) has anything else in it - a space, a character, etc - it will not understand, and will go to default.

Let's see how yours looks, maybe we can figure this out!

    Cheers,

    Rhia

    Hi Rhia and Pstork1,

Please find the attached screenshots below. I cannot see anything wrong with the value

Any chance there's a trailing space on the end of the "Area"? Either on the field, or on the input, or if it's a free-entry field...

I just ran a test on my side and sure enough if there's a space, it goes to Default instead...

    Hi Rhia,

I just checked again and there is no  trailing space after "Area"

And no trailing space on the word "South" in the Case?

Could we see a screenshot of the form section where "Area" is? (Sorry to ask for so much but I'm as stumped as you - this is odd! Gotta see everything...)

Uh oh, it got accepted as a solution ... was there a trailing space on South in the Case itself?! That's frustrating! So easy to miss.

    Hi Rhia,

Yes, there was... Thank you for your help
