Update excel when a sharepoint list item is created or updated - duplication

Hi dear community,

I have set up a flow to update an excel table whenever a list item is created or modified:

The current issue is that the items are duplicating in excel. I checked an example of those and I noticed that the flow was triggered twice with a minute of difference and in both cases, when the filter array was executed the result was a blank array and therefore the 'if yes' path was followed (resulting in duplicated items each time). Please see example below:

A) first trigger:

B) Second trigger

I'm still a bit new with power automate and I can't see what could be wrong with my flow. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Best regards,

Federico

Try removing the filter array and then putting the filter directly into the List Rows Present in a Table step and then put the empty condition on the List Rows step. Also in the List Rows step go to the settings and turn on pagination and threshold like 10000.

If you put the filter directly into the List Rows step you shouldn't need to change the ID into a string. The filter would look like ID eq (DynamicValueSharePointID) kind of like the example below.

Filter in List RowsFilter in List Rows

    Hello sir,

Thanks for your reply! I actually found a reply to a similar issue where someone was using filter array and replaced it with filtering directly when listing the rows. My flow failed but I didn't add pagination, will add that now. Fingers crossed.

Thanks so much for your help

When you say "my flow failed" do you mean it was still adding duplicate rows? Or do you mean the flow actually failed to run due to an error?

You might have to make sure the ID format is matching string to string or integer to integer since sometimes it is hard to tell exactly how those are coming across.

Let me know how it goes,

The flow actually failed due to an error in the list query. I didn't include any Boolean, literally just added the SharePoint ID output and got this:

Then on the Filter Query I added:

    fortizast_2-1675180047146.png

I added the pagination together with this and the flow seems to be running smoothly for now.

    Thanks for all the help!
