Automate email sending from excel file

Hello all

Hoping for some help for a power automate novice. Not sure what I want is even possible.

I have a daily file generated and saved down on a shared folder (not a sharepoint). Once a week, I take a screenshot of a table from that file, and email to the same people.
The owner / creator of the file is reluctant to allow macros in the file.

Is it possible to generate a flow, which is triggered perhaps when the new daily file is generated, take the screenshot and generate & send the email? This will allow me to (a) not worry about doing this myself, and (b) ensure the table gets seen daily instead of weekly

Many thanks in advance

Is the file saved in a place that Power Automate can access? You say not SharePoint, may be Onedrive? Or do you have a data gateway of its a fileshare?

Then you could build a flow to convert the Excel file to an image and add it to an email

unfortunately not...it is just auto generated into a shared drive. i don't know if / how power automate can access it.

There are on-premise data gateways, reference: On-premises data gateway - Power Automate | Microsoft Learn. You'd have to explore whether its possible

Try out the following and let me know if you need more details:
    • Monitor Folder for New File:  Use Power Automate Desktop to monitor the shared folder (not SharePoint) for the creation of the new daily file.

    • Open the File:  Automate opening the file using Power Automate Desktop to ensure the table is accessible for further actions.

    • Take a Screenshot: Use Power Automate Desktop's "Take Screenshot" action to capture the specific table or section from the file.

    • Save Screenshot: Save the screenshot to a location (e.g., shared folder or local drive).

    • Trigger Email: Set up an email action in Power Automate to attach the screenshot and send it to the designated recipients.

    • Trigger on File Creation: Configure the flow to be triggered when a new daily file is added to the shared folder (Power Automate Desktop can monitor the folder for new files).

    • Scheduled Weekly Flow (Optional):  If needed, schedule a weekly run to ensure the table screenshot is taken and emailed at regular intervals.
