Turn off Display during Idle or Waiting Periods?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently facing an issue with a flow I'm running, which involves waiting for a specific process or a browser image to appear. This flow usually takes a considerable amount of time to complete, often requiring me to leave it running overnight.

However, one problem I've encountered is that the monitor remains on throughout this entire period. Needless to say, having the display constantly on can be quite bothersome, especially when it runs for extended durations.

I appreciate any advice or suggestions you can provide. Thank you!

Assuming you are using a desktop PC (not a laptop), simply push the power button on the physical monitor. This will shut off the unit and conserve power, but the computer still registers the monitor.

If it’s a laptop, change the “what happens when I close it” settings. Change them to “nothing”. Then when you close it, the monitor still turns off, but the laptop keeps going.

    good luck!

Thanks you shutting down the monitor works,

But I still think Power Automate Desktop should be able to turn off the display without requiring a button click.

Turning off the display programmatically will prevent UI actions from working. This is a hardware issue that you're facing, unrelated to a PAD flow.
