Only get the first 7 characters of a string?

As part of a flow I am matching to see if part of a string is contained in another. I can usually count on the first 7 characters doing the job.

How do I a string regardless of length and only use the first 7 characters of it?

As long as the string will always be longer than 7 characters you can use the following to get the first 7 characters.

substring(string,0,7)

Hi @dlprentice ,

You can use substring function available in flow. Put the expression as substring('your parameter',0,7) to get the required string.
