Send Email based on Choice Column

Hello Community,

I am building a workflow to send an email based on conditions of a SharePoint Choice Column, but for some reason the expression result comes back as false, and I can't figure out why.

It's based on an item in a SP List being created / modified.

The first condition I want is when the Employee Confirmation is equal to true (yes), the flow runs no problems. BUT when a add another condition i.e (SP Choice Column) Country is equal to UK & Ireland the Yes options to send an email returns the expression as false, even though this is what I have selected in my SP List.

I would like to be able to repeat the conditions for each different country options that I have,

I've tried adding a switch, that did not work.

Any suggestions / help to send an email based on a choice column to send an email for each separate choice within the Column.

Thank you & regards

Claire

Can you add Employee Confirmation column in the view and attach screen shot? Is yes no column?

    Hello @PrasadAthalye

As requested, please see the screen shot of the Employee Confirmation Column,

I'm using a Yes / No column, defaulted to No, I think the issue might be as the flow is running on created and modified, would I be better adding a Do until into the flow? so on created it's No which is false.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received,

    Kind regards

I see that in your comparison, you are using some sort of expression to check true or false...

Instead can you try just simple text true like below...

    Hello @PrasadAthalye ,

The expression I am using is just a true expression,

I will remove it and type true and see how I get on.

    Thank you

    Hello @PrasadAthalye ,

I updated the expression and just put in true, the workflow run, but it did not send the email as it showed the result as being false even the the SP List Column is now a Yes so it should be true????

I've tried adding Do until, but that did not work, the flow ran and skipped the step

Is there anything else I can try?

    Kind regards

Can you split the 2 conditions in 2 If condition blocks?

    1. Remove Country condition from the current block.
    2. Put the country condition inside If yes section.
    3. then within Country Condition, send email.

Now this way, we will know exactly which condition is not matching. I suspect that there might be trailing spaces somewhere within the word 'UK & Ireland'. Other option is to change 2nd condition logical operator to Contains and see if that makes difference...

    Hello @PrasadAthalye

I have done as you suggested and split the 2 conditions

condition 1 - if employee confirmation is equal to true is working correctly

condition 2 - if country code is equal to ***** is not working, I have tried UK & Ireland, and another one Denmark and this is the message, it's showing it skipped as not being equal to, I have copied the text from the choice options in the SP List to make sure I got the correct text, no spaces etc.

I have also tried contains and receive the same message.

Ok. that helped to isolate the issue.

Instead of using Country, can you find and use 'Country Value'. It should be there in the list of fields. For example, I have RequestStatus as Choice field and below is how it shows me...

    Hello @PrasadAthalye

Thank you do much, adding the Country Value has worked and the flow triggered and sent the email

    Thanks again for your help,

    Kind regards
